The idea was to showcase the work of Thomas Ciccone & PiXLMiX, Inc. in a way that would showcase PiXLMiX’s ability to deliver unique products & efficent websites. The site was to function in and of itself and that required a lot of attention to detal. Every slider, pop-up & function was custom built to do exactly what it needed to do and nothing more so the site could have all the frills without any unnecessary bloat.

In order to do this we implemented jQuery, caching & logic techniques that allowed the site to load only necessities at load and then load the ‘as needed’ content as needed. For example, the fullscreen lossless PNGs that you see when you view a fullscreen product or casestudy is not loaded until you ask to see it. Without doing this the initial load would be tens of MB and would take far more than the ‘rule of thumb’ load time of 3 seconds to load.

The site is a beautiful balance between efficent & unique.Thomas envisioned a single page website, powered by the then-new Parallax scrolling effect, that would visually capture the soul of PiXLMiX all while functioning in and of itself. Every slider, pop-up, form & function was to be fully customized to be apart of a well-refined beast known as PiXLMiX.com

After a few weeks of development, revisions & critiquing we created a beautiful machine that we are both very proud of.

WCB design agency website was built and designed from scratch. We used a mixture of Photoshop and Illustrator for the design and for the code we used Zurb Foundations framework. We added our own JQuery for some of the elements and cleaned up some of the responsive design using custom media queries.

Social media-driven website for Jason Bradbury

Following our work with Gadget Show presenter Jason Bradbury on the Pluto Appeal website, Jason contacted us to design his own personal webpage.

The website needed to keep Jason’s fans updated with all his latest news and activities, but at the same time it had to be easy to manage and not burden Jason’s busy schedule. Jason found blogging too time-consuming and ineffective, but he did tweet regularly to a large following.

Our vision was to build a website around Jason’s Twitter presence. The website automatically uploads any tweet that contains a video or photo, meaning Jason doesn’t have to waste time fiddling with a content management system. Twitter is the content management system.

Using Twitter in this way also means the website remains constantly up-to-date. This is most evident on the homepage, which is made up of the last ten images Jason has tweeted on a slider.

Visitors can access all of Jason’s images on a live feed page, which acts like a living scrapbook of all of Jason’s updates. Clicking on an image or video enlarges it and enables you to read the accompanying tweet and reply or retweet it.

Our solution for Jason Bradbury both fits in with his lifestyle and reflects the man himself. Technologically advanced, up to date and cool, the new website offers visitors something innovative and provides Jason with a website that’s not just easy to manage, but also fun.

To convert the conventional Annual Report PDF into a balanced website, graphically strong and very structured from the informational point of view.

With the printed version of the 2011 Annual Report as a starting point for this challenge, the website was created with the goal of impacting upon arrival, with a very dynamic homepage. A video of the windfarm lifecycle was created and placed upfront in the HP, and, in order to make the highlights a bit more fun, parallax scrolling was used in the making.
